Dr. Jonathan Ng is the founder and conductor of the Arizona Choral Society. In May 2007, he made his Carnegie Hall debut conducting Vivaldi’s Gloria accompanied by the New England Symphonic Ensemble. Many of the current members of ACS sang in this Carnegie Hall performance.
He received his Doctorate in Conducting with minors in Vocal Performance & Pedagogy and Music History & Literature from Indiana University. He received his Masters Degree in Conducting and Church Music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton. He has appeared as an orchestral and choral conductor for various groups throughout the States.
Dr. Ng has performed with world famous orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra and New Jersey Symphony Orchestra under the conductors: Kurt Masur, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Zdenek Macal and Joseph Flummerfelt.
Originally from Hong Kong, he now resides in Tucson and regularly appears as tenor soloist in various oratorios and operas. He is currently a Full-time Voice/Choral Faculty Member at Pima Community College and was the Director of Sacred Arts for 11 years at Catalina United Methodist Church.
